Cliffs of Moher

Winding around the island through its mountains and cities, as my GPS avoided the toll roads, I found myself wanting to stop almost as much as I wanted to get to my next spot. Each turn of the road or exit from the freeway offered new adventures that I knew I would have to come back to experience, even if only a fraction of what this place had to offer.

The sun was breaking through the clouds as I arrived just after opening at the Cliffs of Moher parking area and meandered my way up to the shops and then to the cliffs.

I have seen coastal cliffs before, but there was something about this cliffside that held my attention longer than a YouTube short. Maybe it was all the hype from others, maybe it was the dreams I had of this place, or perhaps it was the pull of ancestral land, but I actually slowed down at this point in my trip and was able to walk along the cliffside as my imagination ran wild.

As I made my way back to the parking area, I noticed a family trying to take a picture, so I offered to take one for them. Not for the first time, I captured a family’s picture with pure joy in my heart. I paused for a moment to take in how many people had made it to the edge while I had been wandering around.
